NOTICE OF ISSUE OF WRIT OF ELECTION AND OF TIME AND PLACE OF NOMINATION OF CANDIDATE

Her Excellency the President, having issued a writ for the holding of an election of a member of the House of Assembly for the Roseau North Constituency, the Returning Officer of the said Constituency will on the 21^st day of August 2026 next ensuing, between the hours of nine a.m. and four p.m. at Alpha Centre proceed to the nomination and, if there is no opposition, to the election of a member for the Roseau North Constituency.

Nomination papers may be obtained at the office of Miss Genevieve Guye at 22 Rose Street, Goodwill between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., daily (Sunday excepted).

 Every nomination paper must be signed by any six or more electors qualified to vote in the Roseau North Constituency and be handed to the Returning Officer between the said hours of nine a.m. and four p.m.

A nomination paper shall be void unless it is accompanied by –

 (a) the statutory declaration under section 14(5) of the Act;

(b) the statutory declaration required by section 14(5); and

(c) a deposit of one thousand dollars in cash.

 In the event of an election being contested the poll will take place between the hours of seven a.m. and five p.m. on September 7, 2026 and the preliminary counting of votes will take place immediately thereafter at the respective polling stations and the final counting of votes will take place at Alpha Centre on Tuesday September 8, 2026 at the hour of 9:00am and at such places as may hereafter be appointed.

 The office of the Returning Officer, for the Roseau North Constituency is situated at 22 Rose Street, Goodwill.
